Egham 0 - 2 Perrywood Sharks

Perrywood Sharks Surrey Primary League U11's fixture ended their season in style as they beat second in the league Egham Town on Saturday. Perrywood made a good steady start with a strong performing defence Ben Watts, Chris Coveney, Ted Favas and Captain Toby Phillips (with Matt Skilton in the second half) all clearing well when needed and the Sharks keeper Oliver Spires with more confidence was there when Egham managed to break through making some superb saves. This paved the way for the midfielders Jamie Perchard, Tom Sharman and Adam Shipley to work their magic producing chances for the Perrywood forwards Joe Larraz, Dan Brown and Dan Ploughman. Egham played well and held the Sharks off until the second half when Rhys Buchan subbed for Ploughman scored the first knocking it past the keeper and then Brown made a superb shot from the left going in high to beat the Egham keeper.
The Sharks lost their previous home game 3-1 to Frimley Green Lions with Rhys Buchan managing to claw one back late on in the second half.

Meadow Sports Youth 1 - 0 Perrywood Sharks

Perrywood Sharks won 1 of their 2 games in a double header against Meadow Sports Youth on Sunday. A slow start and an unfortunate bounce on the hard ground with the wind behind the ball saw an early lead for Meadow Sports just out of reach for the Sharks keeper Oliver Spires. Perrywood soon picked up the pace with a break for Midfielder Jamie Perchard making a run down the left and a tight shot that beat the keeper and crossed the goal line 1-1. The winning goal came from a superb corner by Joe Larraz that came in tight and deflected off a Meadows defender 2-1.
The Second game was closely fought with attacks by both teams testing Chris Coveney, Ben Watts, Ted Favas and Matt Skilton in defence, good control and passing through to Tom Sharman heading the midfield with Adam Shipley, Perchard, Larraz, Toby Phillips and Dan Ploughman all covering ground and keeping the game tight. Another high ball in from the Meadows out of reach gave them the lead with seconds left in the first half. Strikers Rhys Buchan and Dan Brown played well picking up the chances but a well defended second half for the Meadows prevented an equaliser. A well matched and enjoyable double header.

Perrywood Sharks 1 - 2 Farncombe Gladiators

Perrywood Sharks put up a good fight against top of the league Farncombe Gladiators losing 2-1 in the first of their Surrey Primary League fixtures this weekend. Captain Tom Sharman led and inspired his team from midfield to match the superb determination and effort he put into the game despite Farncombe getting an early lead. Perrywoods Defence Sean Sheeran, Matt Skilton, Ben Watts and Ted Favas all Controlling the ball and clearing well. Jamie Perchard, Joe Larraz, Toby Phillips and Sharman in midfield all anticipated the game and performed with superb passing giving them higher possession. Chances for Strikers Dan Brown and Rhys Buchan just cut short. Farncombe got their second with only minutes left in the first half. Substitution for the second half saw Dan Ploughman to build on the efforts of the midfield as Perchard pushed forward. Larraz Scored from a penalty awarded following a hand ball making it 1-2 but a last solid push on the attack didn't produce Perrywoods equaliser. In the final minutes Sharks keeper Oliver Spires made a superb save preventing the Gladiators from increasing their score. All in all a very exciting game, well done to all the boys.

Oxshott Royals Diamonds 5 - 2 Perrywood Sharks

Perrywood Sharks ended 5-2 down to Oxshott Royals Diamonds in their SPL division 3 fixture. A slow start for Perrywood conceding the first goal early on in the game led to them getting their heads together and upping the pace. By the end of the first half they had managed to out play the opposition with multiple attacks through a crumbling defence. The equaliser came from a deflection off Joe Larraz following a struggle for Oxshott defence to clear 1-1. All Perrywood needed to do is to maintain the pressure and keep the level of play high for the second half. It wasn't to be, the game turned in the second half and despite sterling efforts from Toby Phillips and Joe Larraz covering a lot of ground. Oxshott dominated with more speed scoring 3 before Perrywood could counter with a great pass forward by Ted Favas for Dan Brown to shoot and beat the keeper making it 4-2. Although the determination was there to get back in the game Oxshott managed to get another in the final minutes ending 5-2.

Mayford Mavericks 1 - 5 Perrywood Sharks

The Sharks gained 3 points in a well deserved victory over Mayford Mavericks away in their Surrey Primary League fixture on Sunday. Jamie Perchard put the first goal away for the Sharks following a cross from Joe Larraz on the Left. The Mavericks put the pressure on with some breaks and were awarded a penalty for a hand ball giving them the equaliser.
Second half and the sharks pulled together to play some well timed through balls allowing Ted Favas a run down the centre to re-take the lead. A foul gave a penalty for the Sharks and Larraz kept his cool to increase the lead 3-1. The attacks kept coming against a crumbling defence and a nice touch past the keeper by Dan Brown left Perchard clear for his second. With 5 minutes left and an assist from Rhys Buchan, Brown scored number 5 over the keeper and dropping in to seal the victory.

Perrywood Sharks 3 - 1 Mayford Mavericks

Perrywood Sharks won 3-1 after a shaky start to Mayford Mavericks in their second fixture of the Weekend. The Mavericks Started well with a firm performance leaving the Sharks 1-0 down at half time. A team talk woke them up for the second half and they looked much stronger with Ban Watts, Chris Coveney and Matt Skilton handling the ball well in defence.
Ted Favas took the equaliser putting the ball in high with a drop into the net. Closely followed by a superb shot from Toby Phillips that bounced through the legs of the Mayford keeper where Jamie Perchard was quick to run in and make sure it crossed the line with a tumble of players. With the lead held the Sharks built on the pace and Perchard took the ball round the keeper to slot in the third

Perrywood Sharks 3 - Rushmoor Saints Tigers 4

Perrywood Sharks lost their 2 goal lead to Rushmoor Saints to finish 4-3 down in the first of their two fixtures for the weekend. The Saints scored first 10 minutes in closely followed by the Sharks equaliser from Dan Brown with a flick on a cross from Ted Favas. The Sharks kept it tight and winger Joe Larraz put the sharks in the lead with a shot from just outside the keepers area. The Sharks defence stood firm for the duration of the first half allowing Jamie Perchard to break and make a shot across the six yard box that Daniel Plowman touched in to put the Sharks 3-1 up. Rushmoor picked their heads up and fought back to score 3 in the second half. Although further chances for the Sharks came the finish didn't and an offside decision denied the sharks their equaliser..

Woking Town Jets 4 - 1 Perrywood Sharks

Perrywood Sharks were unlucky to go down 4-1 to Woking Town Jets in their SPL Division 3 fixture on Sunday. The Sharks played well and deserved a better score line to reflect the superb teamwork and effort put into the game. A strong start with the Sharks on the attack just minutes into the game giving them a corner taken by Joe Larraz, sailing the ball into the keepers area with fantastic precision for Ted Favas to knock home to give the Sharks the lead. Woking Town responded with central attacks that tested the Sharks defence pulling back the equaliser. The Sharks were not short of chances with Shots from Jamie Perchard, Adam Shipley and Rhys Buchan keeping the pressure on. A late goal just before half time put the Jets in the lead. Second half and The Jets built on their advantage being too quick for the Sharks defence despite further breaks and more possession the Sharks just couldn't get the finish. The Jets finished 4-1 up.

Perrywood 6 - 1 Hersham

Perrywood Sharks got another hugely deserved 6-1 win against 5th in the league Hersham on Sunday following a superb performance by all the team. Striker Jamie Perchard for the Sharks made a good run down the centre and took the lead early on. Joe Larraz strengthened from a square ball from Dan Brown allowing Larraz to beat the Hersham goalie at close range 2-0. Hersham countered and from a corner headed in, not leaving any options for the Sharks keeper Olie Spires 2-1. Spires denied any equaliser with superb saves holding Hersham off for half time. Second half and the Sharks continue to push forward with brilliant through balls from Adam Shipley and Ted Favas creating the feeds needed for Rhys Buchan to get two home, one from a mid range shot the other chipping the Hersham goalie putting the Sharks 4-1 up. Further attacks at goal well defended but Larraz battled on with great pace to beat the defence and to gain his hatrick.

Burpham Falcons 1 - 3 Perrywood Sharks

Perrywood Sharks continued their winning streak and picked up three points for a 3-1 win against Burpham Falcons away. The lead was taken by Rhys Buchan with a high shot the Falcons keeper could not get a hand to, dropping into the back of the net. A close first half with attempts at goal from both teams but the Sharks defence kept their line well with Ben Watts, Matt Skilton, Toby Phillips and Sean Sheeran all putting in a solid performance and when the Falcons broke through keeper Oliver Spires made some great saves to deny any equaliser. The Second half saw Perrywood push forward with more strength and Midfielder Adam Shipley produced a 2-0 lead from a long range shot for the Sharks. The Falcons seconds later on a break, pulled one back. Continued strength and good passing between players led to left winger Joe Larraz sealing the victory with a superb shot that hit the post, but found Dan Brown in the right place, right time to knock it in from an awkward bounce.

Perrywood Sharks 5 - 4 Oxshott Royal Diamonds

Perrywood Sharks picked up a further 3 points following a close 5-4 Victory against Oxshott Royal Diamonds in their second fixture this weekend. The Sharks maintained their good form despite conceding the first goal to the Diamonds. a decisive response from the centre found Joe Larraz who passed to Jamie Perchard and a nice through ball allowed Dan Brown to pressure the Diamonds goalie to steal the equaliser. A decisive Tackle by Larraz picked up by Brown again for a chip over the keeper to take the lead 2-1. Goal for goal as the Diamonds equalise seconds after and up the pace to gain the lead 2-3. Larraz down the left crosses the path of Perchard leaving Dan Ploughman all set to equalise with a great shot hammered home 3-3. Second half and 7 minutes in Larraz puts the Sharks back on top with a superb goal only to be snatched away with a diamond equaliser 4-4. Goal for goal now and with time running out Larraz sealed Perrywoods victory with the winning goal.

Perrywood Sharks 3 - 1 Guildford Saints Clarets

Perrywood Sharks gained 3 points at home against Guildford Saints Clarets in their SPL League Division 3 fixture. The Sharks started strong with superb passing leading to the first goal by Joe Larraz. Perrywood on the break again with a pass back to Sean Sheeran on the edge of the area for a blinding shot into the back of the net. Midfield Tom Sharman and Dan Ploughman delivering some great chances with through balls for Perrywood. Ted Favas set the home team for victory by scoring the third following some sharp passes in the six yard box from captain Dan Brown and Jamie Perchard. The Saints upped their game in the second half getting one back and gaining more possession and chances for goal but Perrywood kept their cool and held their win.

Rushmoor Saints Tigers 0 - 1 Perrywood Sharks

Perrywood Sharks won against Rushmoor Saints Tigers away in their SPL League Division 3 fixture. The Sharks were on form with a superb through ball by Jamie Perchard finding Ted Favas who flicked it onto Dan Brown to take it down the middle and cross to Adam Shipley to finish by slipping the ball past the Tigers keeper. Sharks 1-0 up in the first 4 minutes. Great defending from Ben Watts, Sean Sheeran and Toby Phillips cut the Tigers chances of equalising short. The Sharks kept the pressure on in the second half with a good run from Rhys Buchan, Daniel Ploughman took a great shot following a deflection, Brown, Perchard and Joe Loraz also getting good chances at goal all just narrowly missing or being saved at the last minute. All in all a well deserved win for the Sharks.

Perrywood Sharks 3 - 3 Woking Town Jets

Perrywood Sharks drew against Woking Town Jets in their very wet and boggy SPL League Division 3 fixture. The Sharks started well with Ted Favas on the right putting in an amazing run finishing with a great cross for Striker Dan Brown to put away to take the lead just 2 minutes in. Perrywood kept the pressure on and a corner from Joe Larraz set Daniel Ploughman up for a well timed shot evading the Jets keeper making it 2-0. The Jets managed to get one back from a corner just before half time. Second half and the Jets began to find their form and upped the pace equalising following a corner 2-2. Another cross from Favas deflecting off Brown's knee gave the Sharks the edge again 3-2. In the last minutes Oliver Spires made a great save but just couldn't get both hands on the ball in time and the Jets equalised. A very close exiting game, Final Score 3-3.

Frimley Green Lions 4 - 3 Perrywood Sharks

Perrywood Sharks put in a strong performance against Frimley Green Lions in their SPL League Division 3 fixture and despite making a fantastic come back in the second half and showing some superb teamwork on the ball, they just couldn't get the equaliser. Lions started well and scored within the first 5 minutes. Sharks responded with a good run down the wing by Joe Larraz who put in a square ball for Dan Brown to knock into the net 1-1. Lion's on the attack again denied by a superb goal line clearance from Sean Sheeran only to find a lions striker to score their second. The opposition were quick on the attack getting to some long through balls before the Sharks defence, enabling them to get another two in by half time. The second half saw the Sharks come back fighting, with 2 goals from Jamie Perchard, one following a corner and the other headed, which deflected off a Lions player. The Sharks continued to put the pressure on but time ran out. Overall a great game.

Perrywood Sharks 1 - 5 Meadow Sports Youth

A well fought Junior plate quarter final fixture against Meadow Sports Youth saw the Sharks go down 5-1. The score was by no means representative of the level of play and only some silly mistakes and defensive errors gave the opposition their lead.
The Sharks got their first chance following a good cross by Joe Loraz but Jamie Perchard and Dan Brown desperately trying to get a foot to it were denied. Meadows responded from a missed pass from the Sharks that went sailing over keeper Oliver Spires and into the net 1-0. Shot by Brown saved off the keeper to Loraz who's shot found the cross bar. Meadows broke through the defence once from a corner allowing them to increase their lead to 3-0 by half time. Free kick taken by Perchard for the Sharks found forward Tom Sharman for a blinding shot that was deflected off Brown into the net 3-1. Despite some outstanding saves by Spires and good coverage by Adam Shipley and Ben Watts and a superb headed clearance by defender Toby Phillips the opposition finished 5-1 up

Farncombe Gladiators 2 - 0 Perrywood Sharks
The Sharks kept their heads high despite going down 2-0 in their close and well fought Surrey Primary League U11's fixture against top of the division Farncombe Gladiators. The boys played well with Olie Spires in goal Toby Phillips, Matt Skilton and Dan Ploughman in defence covered by Ben Watts and Sean Sheeran. Adam Shipley, Dan Brown, Rhys Buchan, Tom Sharman and Jamie Perchard up front with a debut appearance from sub Ted Favas. The Game kicked off with a quick pace being maintained by the Gladiators. Perrywood on a back foot but solid defence cutting the Gladiators short. Good clearance by Perchard down the line. First goal to the Gladiators 10 minutes in. Brown got a chance to equalise but was denied by the Gladiators Goalie. Gladiators with a close high shot judged well by spires and bounced off the cross bar. Second half saw attempts at goal from Perchard and Brown but they were not to be. Gladiators pushing forward with a run managed to get their second. A close and evenly matched game.

Perrywood Sharks 7 - 1 Mayford Mavericks
The Sharks with their new sponsor looked sharp and won 7 - 1 at home against Mayford Mavericks. Solid defending from Toby Phillips on the Left, Matt Skilton centre and Ben Watts on the right with Ollie Spires in goal set the foundations for the Sharks victory. The boys found their form and 19 minutes in saw a fast run down the left by Joe Larraz who's shot at goal put the Sharks 1-0 up. Striker Dan Brown followed with a deflecting crossed ball from Larraz into the net 2-0. Pressure again from the home side which was well defended from the Mavericks goal line but Dan Ploughman was there to finish for a 3-0 lead. Shot by Ploughman saved but hammered in by right winger Rhys Buchan giving the Sharks 4 by half time. Spires denied the Mavericks chances to score with a great performance limiting them to 1. Superb passing by Tom Sharman, Sean Sheeran and Adam Shipley led to Forward Jamie Perchard getting a goal, and Brown got his hatrick with another two. Final score 7-1

Hersham 2 - 1 Perrywood Sharks
The Sharks lost 2 - 1 in their tightly played fixture away to Hersham . Hersham
started strong with attacks down both wings well defended by the Sharks Ben
Watts, Adam Manser, Matt Skilton and Chris Coveney. A free kick awarded to the
Sharks following a foul on midfielder Joe Larraz gave them a chance to score but
Hersham countered and made a fast break down the wing, Watts denied their attack
with some outstanding defending. more nail biting attacks from both teams in the
second half before the sharks persistence paid off with a nice little flick from
Larraz to striker Jamie Perchard leaving him clear for a shot that rolled past
Hersham's keeper just out of reach and into the net 1-0.
Hersham's response was rapid, scoring the equaliser just seconds later. Sharks
under pressure with Hersham pushing forward but keeper Oliver Spires made a
great save that was cleared decisively by Coveney. Despite their best efforts
the Sharks who covered ground fast switching from attack to Defence got caught
out leaving Hersham with two strikers clear to take the winning goal

Perrywood Sharks 2 - Burpham Falcons 2
Perrywood Sharks drew at home to Burpham Falcons in a tightly played home game
despite going down 1-0 within the starting few minutes. The Sharks responded by
upping their game and sterling performances by the defensive team led by Captain
Sean Sheeran, Daniel Ploughman, Matt Skilton and Chris Coveney prevented the
Falcons from getting close again. Perrywood dominated for the remaining first
half seeing multiple chances from Joe Loraz off the cross bar and Adam Shipley
showing great pace. The pressure paid off with a cross from Jamie Perchard
deflecting off the keeper into the goal, 1-1. Great passing from Toby Phillips,
Loraz then Shipley crossing to Dan Brown who put the ball away for a 2-1 lead.
The Falcons pulled it back together and were back in the game putting Perrywoods
Goalie Oliver Spires through his paces, eventually scoring their equaliser.
Further chances for Rhys Buchan and the sharks midfielder Tom Sharman with some
solid tackles and great passing but the Sharks just couldn't get another before
time ran out. All in all a very eventful game played with good spirits from both
teams.

Perrywood Sharks 1 - Guilford Saints Clarets 3
Perrywood Sharks fought hard against Guildford Saints Clarets in their Surrey Primary League Division 3 fixture. Led by Captain Adam Shipley the game started well with Perrywoods defence Chris Coveney, Matt Skilton, Adam Manser and Ben Watts standing firm. Manser made a good ball through to striker Jamie Perchard and with a quick pass to find forward Joe Loraz whose shot went wide. Perrywood on the attack again defended well by the Saints. Sean Sheeran countered their clearance with a shot from 25 yards out that narrowly missed the target. Perrywood Corner by Loraz was deflected but hammered home by Rhys Buchan 1-0. More chances from Rhys with a shot that came off the post and Perchards just over the bar. Pressure was on for the second half, defensive errors led to the equaliser for the Saints. With time against them Perrywoods game play just didn't gel and they conceded a further 2 goals despite last minute breaks from forward Dan Brown, Toby Phillips and Perchard the goals needed just wouldn't come. Overall a performance that didn't reflect the Sharks usual standard.

Surrey Junior Cup 1st round U11's
Perrywood Sharks 3 - 1 Meadow Sports Reds
Perrywood Sharks gained a well deserved 3-1
victory over Meadow Sports Reds in their Junior Cup 1st round U11's fixture.
Play started at a quick pace with both teams not able to break far from the
centre line. A great through ball from Perrywoods Tom Sharman and strong passing
from Rhys Buchan and Joe Larraz gave Perrywood the lead as Larraz hammered the
ball home. The chances kept coming with Buchan and Dan Brown playing up front
making some great runs and passes but the finish just kept slipping away. Then a
thundering shot from Sharman from 25 yards out rocked the Reds goalie who
managed a fantastic save before launching a counter attack with a quick break
that gave the Reds their equaliser.
Second half and a succession of great passes made by Perrywood on the attack
were cut short by the Reds defence. Jamie Perchard on the right wing, crossed to
Brown who scored from outside the area making it 2 - 1 to Perrywood. With
minutes to go Buchan passes to Perchard then a square ball to find Larraz to
finish by touching it past the Reds keeper. 3-1
SPL Div 4 U11's - 17th October 2010
Perrywood Sharks 1 - 2 Rushmoor Saints
Tigers
Perrywood played a challenging away game to
Rushmoor Saints Tigers which started with a steady pace seeing runs to both ends
of the pitch. Perrywoods defence stood strong with Sean Sheeran, Adam Manser,
Matt Skilton and Ben Watts keeping their line well. Joe Larraz playing in
midfield made a superb pass from the wing to Perrywoods forward Rhys Buchan but
was cut short by the Saints defence. The Saints responded with a quick break
down the wing and a shot at goal deflected by Perrywoods Keeper Oliver Spires
only to be touched in on the rebound, 1-0 to the Saints. Jamie Perchard subbed
for Dan Brown to become the second forward for Perrywood who didn't hang around
to make his mark, playing a sharp one two with Larraz, Brown then crossed for
Buchan to put away in the back of the net, 1-1.
The Saints put the pressure on for the second half and launched a wave of
attacks, testing the Perrywood defence. Three minutes to go and a high ball form
the Saints forward evaded the reach of Spires making the final score 2-1 to the
Saints. Overall a good performance from both teams and an entertaining match
played in the right spirit by both teams.

Perrywood Sharks 11 - 1 Molesey Juniors
Perrywood gained their second league game
victory over Molesey Juniors today. Despite the final score line this started
off a tough game seeing vast improvements in the Molesey attacking strength.
Another superb performance by Olie in goal and Perrywoods defence holding off
the Molesey attacks, with Ben Watts, Chris and Sean all playing well. Tom
Sharman (captain) leading the midfield with Dan Brown, Adam and Joe. Rhys and
Jamie Perchard were up front and the half time score was 4-1 seeing one from
Rhys, Daniel, Jamie and Joe.
The Second Half saw Perrywoods team play improve and add to their gains. Some
fantastic runs from Joe Laraz on the wing and superb efforts from Adam Shipley
led to a fine victory final Score Perrywood 11- Molesey Juniors 1 with Joe and
Adam getting their hatrick, and another from Jamie and Rhys

Surrey County Cup 1st Round
Caterham Pumas A 3 - 0 Perrywood Sharks
The luck of the draw was not with the Sharks
on the first round of the Surrey County Cup, getting a premier division side
away from home was always going to be a big challenge for the Sharks. The boys
all worked incredibly hard and gave Caterham a really good game. The Sharks
played more defensively than usual with Adam Shipley going into central defence
and Sean playing in front of the usual back 4. After 25 minutes of the 1st half
it looked like the tactics were working until Caterham finally managed to breach
the Sharks defence. The teams ended the half with Caterham leading by just the
one goal. The second half continued in the same way with Caterham attacking
strongly and the Sharks trying to score on the counter attack, with Rhys coming
very close to scoring. Caterham managed to score two more with Ben saving one
off the line and as usual Ollie putting in a great performance with a number of
great saves. The boys still had smiles on their faces despite losing, they all
knew they had put in a great team performance
Sunday 26th September
Perrywood Sharks 6 v 0 Onslow Vikings
Perrywood gave another strong performance following their
7-0 victory over Molesey Juniors in a pre season friendly a fortnight ago. Their
first league game against Onslow Vikings saw Jamie Perchard scoring 2, Rhys
Buchan and Joe Loraz also finding the back of the net in the first half. The
midfield worked really hard with Sean covering the defence and some great passes
from Tom Sharman. So the Sharks went in 4 nil up at half time.
Onslow raised their game for the second half and threatened the Sharks goal a
number of times Perrywood defence had to work hard with a crucial save from
Ollie deflecting a shot onto the post. The defenders Ben Watts (team captain),
Adam Manser and Matt all worked well together to keep Onslow out. Adam Shipley
evaded the Onslow keeper and scored together with Jamie who got his hatrick. Dan
Brown and Joe both came very close to scoring, either hitting the post or their
shots just going wide. The final result 6 - 0 to the Sharks who go 4th in the
division after their 1st game with a game in hand over 2 of the teams above them

Perrywood Sharks 7 v 0 Molesey Juniors Allstars
The Sharks started the new season and with a goalfest against Molesey. All that work in training paid off as the team put in a well disciplined and exciting display. The team defended really well with Ben and Sean at the heart of the back line doing a great job, combined with some great passing from midfield and Rhys and Jamie in attack. By half time Jamie had scored twice and Dan Brown also netted his first goal for the Sharks. The second half continued the same way , Jamie scored another three and Rhys also got his first goal. It was a really enjoyable start to the season with a great performance from the whole team.
